Manchester City's title hopes in doubt after heavy defeat to Arsenal

Manchester City are now five points behind Arsenal in the Premier League title race after suffering a heavy 5-0 defeat at the Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners were rampant throughout the contest, scoring through Eddie Nketiah, Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli, Emile Smith Rowe and Martin Odegaard.

It was a chastening defeat for City, who had been in fine form before the international break. The loss leaves them with a mountain to climb if they are to retain their Premier League crown.

Arsenal, meanwhile, are in dreamland. They have now won six games in a row in all competitions and look like the team to beat in the title race.

The win also gives them a psychological edge over City, who they will now face in the FA Cup semi-final on Saturday.

It promises to be a fascinating clash between two of the best teams in the country. Arsenal will be looking to reach the FA Cup final for the first time since 2017, while City will be hoping to avoid a third consecutive defeat in the competition.

The other semi-final will see Manchester United take on Brighton & Hove Albion.

United will be looking to reach the FA Cup final for the first time since 2018, while Brighton will be hoping to cause an upset and reach the final for the first time in their history.

The FA Cup semi-finals are scheduled to take place on Saturday 16th April and Sunday 17th April.

The final will be held at Wembley Stadium on Saturday 21st May.
