North Berwick: Woman Seriously Injured After Being Hit by Car on Buffum Road

Woman fights for her life after being struck by reckless driver

A woman in her 50s is in serious condition after being hit by a car in North Berwick on Buffum Road late Tuesday evening. Police and emergency services were called to the scene at 8:45 pm, following reports of a collision involving a pedestrian and a car. The woman was found unconscious and taken to Maine Medical Center, where she remains in critical condition. The driver of the car, a 23-year-old man from Sanford, was not injured.

The Maine Police Department is investigating the incident. No charges have been filed at this time.

According to witnesses, the woman was crossing the street when she was hit by the car. The driver of the car remained at the scene and is cooperating with police. The cause of the accident is still under investigation, but police say speed may have been a factor.
